遇罗克，生于1942年5月1日，于1970年3月5日被北京市军事管制委员会宣判死刑，后被处决。终年27岁。

遇罗克在文革中的民间小报《中学文革报》发表文章《出身论》，对中华人民共和国建政以来一直主导社会的按照家庭出身划分社会地位、分配社会资源的“血统论”思想提出了逻辑严密而犀利的辩驳。他是中国最早提出人权理念的思想者：“任何通过个人努力所达不到的权利，我们一概不承认”。他被许多研究中国思想者和反叛者的人们称为中国的马丁·路德金。

本片导演郝建耗时十余年，采访了诸多遇罗克的亲人和战友，拍摄了大量与遇罗克生平有关的物料，结合用纪实采访与杂耍蒙太奇的艺术手法记录和描述了遇罗克的生平。作者还采访了刘晓波等中国几代思想者，与他们一起思考遇罗克在中国历史中的思想意义以及人格形象，对作为思想者、反叛者和人权先驱的遇罗克做出了多角度的深刻读解和阐释。

片尾也列出受访者刘晓波获得诺贝尔和平奖的七年后在监禁中患癌症死亡的文字。跨越四十多年，历代中国思想者的结局让人不禁唏嘘。

Luoke Yu was born on May 1, 1942. He was sentenced to death by the Beijing Military Control Commission on March 5, 1970 and was later executed. He was 27 years old.

Luoke Yu published an article titled "On Origin" in the folk tabloid "Middle School Cultural Revolution Newspaper" during the Cultural Revolution, which put forward a logical and sharp rebuttal to the "bloodline theory" that has dominated society since the founding of the People's Republic of China, which divides social status and allocates social resources according to family origin. He was the first thinker in China to propose the concept of human rights: "We do not recognize any rights that cannot be achieved through personal efforts." He is called China's Martin Luther King by many people who study Chinese thinkers and rebels.

The director of this film, Jian Hao, spent more than ten years interviewing many of Yu Luoke's relatives and comrades-in-arms, shooting a large amount of materials related to Luoke Yu's life, and combining documentary interviews with the artistic techniques of juggling montage to record and describe Luoke Yu's life. The author also interviewed several generations of Chinese thinkers, including Xiaobo Liu, and discussed with them the ideological significance and personality image of Luoke Yu in Chinese history, and made a profound multi-angle reading and interpretation of Luoke Yu as a thinker, rebel and human rights pioneer.

The end of the film also lists the text of the interviewee Xiaobo Liu who died of cancer in prison seven years after winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Spanning more than 40 years, the endings of generations of Chinese thinkers are sad.

赵涛饰演的小玉 - 湖北人，宜昌“夜归人”桑拿店的前台服务员。在被当地两位镇干部强迫要求陪同桑拿按摩时，出于自卫刺死了对方，然后自首。事情了结后到山西焦胜利的公司求职。 - “邓玉娇事件”。
罗蓝山饰演的小辉 - 来自湖南的打工仔，迫于经济压力在广州、东莞一带不停地换工作，最后不堪生活重负在某世界500强台资企业的宿舍楼里跳楼自杀。 - “深圳富士康员工坠楼事件”。

      《我们》开始于一个描绘中国居士生活的项目，最终却让我们看到了更多更有力的东西：一言以蔽之，是那些“持不同政见者”。并非苏联意义下的持不同政见者，而是一些坚持从政治层面（而不只是经济层面）考虑国家未来的公民，无论他们是否共产党员。所有人都曾有被迫害，被监禁、被警方侵扰，写的书被查禁的经历。所有人都学会了在这个国家如何生存，如何继续。
影片原名《他们》。但闻海清楚地明白，导演在拍摄别人的同时也在拍摄自己。若称之为“他们”，则是把影片里的人物归于一个谨慎的陌生群体。最终的剪辑版本选择了立场：他们即“我们”。
 谈及他的影片，闻海谦虚地说他试图展现的是一些“公民”的形象。这种令人钦佩的谦虚令片中那些诗人英雄般的人物表现出某种勇气，它让我们看到，听到这个被霓虹灯、手机、摩天楼和奥运会粉饰的今天，历史具有的重量。

The voices in this film are all conscientious citizens doing their utmost to improve the state of their nation. Their ethos is: "Where affairs of state are concerned, we cannot stand idly by and watch." And yet the reward for their concern is a lifetime spent in political turmoil, years of periodic intimidation and surveillance. This film illustrates the perils of seeking freedom in a time of darkness, in a time when critique requires transformation. It depicts the harsh realities faced by three generations of activists—young, middle-aged and elderly—and allows us to better understand their anxieties, hopes, despairs and above all, their persistence.

Starting from a project on the portrait of laying Buddhist (Wenhai opposes the religious feeling to the chaos), "WE" leads us to meet something more, and more powerful: which are the dissidents in one word. Not the dissidents in the sense of Soviet Union, but a bunch of courageous citizens, no matter who are CCP members or not, who persist in thinking politically (and not just economically) the future of their country. All of them have got the experiences of being oppressed, of being jailed, of being harassed by the police, of being censored. All of them learned how to survive in this country, and how to continue.
 The original title of the film was "TAMEN", which means "THEY". But Wenhai knows very well that a direcor is also shooting himself while he shoots others. By calling "THEY" , he would have put a distance,  the people in the film would be felt as a prudent strangers group. The final cut takes position :They are "WE".
 Wenhai said modestly of his film that he has just tries to present some images of citizens. Formidable modesty helps him find a sort of courage on those poet-heroes, since it makes us see and hear the weight of the history on a "today" made up with neon lights, mobile phones, skyscrapers, and Olympic games.

本片追踪2013年海南万宁校长官员性侵幼女案过程的人权议题纪录片。讲述了叶海燕针对校长带小学女生开房事件的示威活动，叶海燕母女随后的逃亡旅程，以及在途中叶海燕遭到公安驱赶、追逐、恐吓、监视的情况。影片记录了叶海燕因参与此事被捕，赶出家门，但最终案件罪犯还是被判刑的故事。

2016年年底本片入围可以角逐2017年奥斯卡最佳纪录片奖的15部纪录片之一，但后来无缘奥斯卡最佳纪录片奖的前5提名。叶海燕2017年被采访时，却表示终于松了一口气：“如果因为这部纪录片有很多人开始关注我和我的工作，我估计就不能在国内待下去了”。对于自己的未来和定位，她认为：“我不希望成为一个比我现在还要明显的异议人士”。

这部纪录片的拍摄地点是青海省祁连山区，小煤矿在海拔3600米处，空气稀薄，条件恶劣。矿区中有很多这类小煤窑，常年有200多名矿工，都是来自附近的农民，他们的年龄在17——50岁之间。

矿工在深六、七十米的矿井中爬行，每天大约可以背出30担煤。每担煤30公斤，一个人的月收入在400元左右。矿工一般干5-10年就会得矽肺病，从而失去劳动能力。

矿工们挣到的钱主要用于盖房子、娶媳妇以及支付孩子学费。如果死于事故，家属可以得到5000元赔偿金。矿区的领导们也感到这样的煤矿就是犯罪，但他们在经济的利益的面前选择犯罪。我希望拍摄矿工的真实生活，但我的拍摄被拒绝。并受到威胁，我只好避开矿区的“耳目”继续拍摄工作。
